Dr. Glenn Shulkin, DDS, brings over 30 years of experience to his practice, delivering expert dental care with a personal touch. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Indiana University and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. A pioneer in dental technology, Dr. Shulkin was one of the first American dentists to be formally trained and certified as a trainer in the use of YAG laser technology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Shulkin has worked in various capacities in the dental field, including serving as an assistant at two of Chicago’s major dental laboratories, Major-Monroe Dental Laboratory and Summit Dental Laboratory. Today, he leads state-of-the-art practice: The Dental Store, located in Schaumburg, Illinois. This practice offers comprehensive dental services under one roof—including family, cosmetic, and restorative care—along with flexible hours to accommodate busy schedules.
Dr. Shulkin is known for his warm, patient-focused approach. He treats each patient like family, taking the time to understand their goals, explain treatment options, and alleviate anxiety through clear communication, and a touch of humor. He finds it especially rewarding to restore his patients’ self-confidence and appearance through high-quality dental care.
A respected figure in the dental community, Dr. Shulkin, has earned hundreds of hours in continuing education and is a charter member of the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee of the International Academy of Laser Dentistry (1990). He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Laser Dentistry and a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Society for Lasers in Medicine & Surgery. He is also affiliated with the Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the American Academy of Dental Group Practice, the International Society of Laser Dentistry, and the Greater O’Hare Association. He is a proud graduate of the Dale Carnegie Institute.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Shulkin enjoys golfing and spending time with his dog. Patients often comment on his genuine interest in their well-being, both dental and personal, and appreciate the individualized care they receive. One memorable success story involved a patient who had suffered from inadequate care elsewhere and was pursuing legal action. Dr. Shulkin stepped in, became her advocate, and successfully restored both her oral health and confidence, transforming her into a healthy, devoted patient.
